NEGRI Sembilan Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) have agreed in principle to propose an Amanah member be made state assembly speaker, while the deputy speaker post is reserved for PKR.

Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun told reporters this after chairing the executive council meeting today.

He said a vote will be held for the post at a special assembly session on September 26, which will also see the assemblymen sworn in.

“We have received the consent of Negri Sembilan’s Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir for both the sitting and swearing-in ceremony,” he said.

Aminuddin said Tuanku Muhriz also consented to convene the state assembly for four days from October 9. – Bernama, August 30, 2023.
