BERSATU deputy president Ahmad Faizal Azumu is planning to sue a woman who had accused him of sexual harassment last week, reports Malaysiakini.

“I will lodge a police report and will sue the woman for defaming me,” Faizal was quoted as telling the news portal today.

He said he was in Seremban at the time of the incident.

In a report lodged by a 37-year-old woman against Faizal at the Sri Hartamas police station on July 24, she had claimed that the politician had verbally harassed her with a lecherous remark.

She said the incident happened at about 11am at Plaza Damas in Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysiakini also reported Brickfields district police chief Amihizam Abdul Shukor as saying that the complainant had retracted her report on the same day it was lodged.

In a Facebook post, Faizal said he had lodged a report at the Sri Hartamas police station at 2.20pm today.

“In my report, I have said the accusation against me is false and I believe there were criminal and slanderous elements in that accusation,” he said.

Faizal said there were many people who saw him in Negri Sembilan on the day he was accused of sexually harassing the woman. – August 3, 2023.
