PERIKATAN Nasional (PN) is not focusing on its menteri besar candidate for Negri Sembilan but on winning the August 12 state elections, its state chairman Ahmad Faizal Azumu said.

“PN’s target is to win the state elections with full teamwork, without considering which component party the candidates are from.

“I believe we are able to spring a surprise,” he said, as quoted by Harian Metro today.

Faizal said that was the reason PN was not focusing on its menteri besar candidate.

“Once we have secured enough seats to form a government, we will present the names to the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan.

“(And) what’s also important is, we win first and then, we will discuss who will administer the state,” he said.

Nomination for the state polls is tomorrow. – July 28, 2023.
