A WOMAN was killed after the roof of a school was blown away by strong winds and landed on her house in Jalan Tahang Rimau, Segamat, last night.

Segamat fire and rescue station chief Muhd Hazim Abdul Razak said V. Mahadevi, 55, was confirmed dead at the scene by a medical officer.

He said five firemen were sent to the scene after they received a distress call at 7.41pm.

“Upon arriving, we found the roof of SMK Seg Hwa had been blown off and landed on a house located next to the school,” he said in a statement today.

“A woman was pulled from the rubble by members of the public but she died at the scene. The body was handed over to the police for further action.” – Bernama, June 20, 2023.
