PRASARANA Malaysia Bhd will take legal action over the damaged structures near the Bandaraya LRT station, which resulted in service disruptions, said Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
He said Prasarana would take legal action to recover costs from repair work and service disruptions.
“It’s best to leave it to the court to decide,” he told reporters today.
On January 27, the LRT service for the Ampang line experienced delays due to a kinked track alignment near the Bandaraya LRT station.
Subsequently, on February 22, Loke said investigations show the damage to the structure was caused by ground movement, believed to be the result of construction work at a project site beside the station.
He said construction work at the site was conducted without any consultation with the Land Public Transport Agency as required under the Railways (Railway Protection Zone) Regulations 1998.
As such, the ministry would look into taking legal action against the developer concerned, he said. – April 18, 2023.
