ISLAMOPHOBIA and all acts of hatred and violence against individuals based on religion or belief must be rejected, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said.
He said to achieve that, Malaysia is ready to cooperate constructively and collectively with the world community.
“Malaysia whole-heartedly joins the world community in commemorating the International Day to Combat Islamophobia on March 15,” he said in a post on Facebook today.
“This is not a day to be celebrated, but a day to enhance awareness of the world community and the need for action to combat Islamophobia.”
As Muslims around the world will be welcoming the month of Ramadan soon, Anwar called on the people to practise moderation in line with the concept of Malaysia Madani and reject extremist ideologies. – Bernama, March 15, 2023.

In Malaysia we have cases of preachers going about belittling other religions and cultures, and against whom reports have been made, but no action is being taken by the authorities.
So if people of other religions and cultures begin suffering from "Islamophobia", who is to be blamed ?
Islamophobia is not going to go away until and unless those responsible for causing Islamophobia are effectively stopped from doing so. Islamophobia will wither away on its own if the root cause - those giving a bad image and putting a fear of their religion in those of other religions are effectively stopped from doing so.
You can't have the best of both worlds - allowing some to go on creating fear and asking the others not to be fearful !
