POLICE have sent an investigation paper on allegation made by businesswoman Kogee Sinniah, 41, against police mistreatment and harassment by three road bullies to the Attorney-General’s Chamber for further action, said Inspector General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun.

He said the alleged road bullies, who were arrested two days ago, have been released on bail.

Police also investigated Kogee’s allegation the police turned a blind eye on her predicament.

Kogee in her video that has been viewed nearly 171,000 times with more than 1,100 comments, alleged the policeman at the post near the entrance was “checking out” her legs when he peeked through the window instead of helping her.

She explained there was a bottleneck in Persiaran Alam Damai and admitted she might have unintentionally swerved into the path of the other car.

Soon after, the other car began trailing her.

Out of panic, Kogee made few calls to emergency line 999. She also sped off to Alam Damai police station to seek help.

But when she got near the traffic light the BMW drive drove past her and blocked her car.

“This was when I honked continuously for about two or three minutes calling and signalling for help but nobody came.

“The driver then drove off and I drove to the entrance of the police station. I could not go in as there was a cone blocking the way.”

She said the policeman at the game asked her about the honking and peered into the car to see what she was wearing.

Mazlan said the police sentry was only doing his job as he was standing next to the front passenger seat window and spoke to Kogee from there.

“She wound it down a bit. My man was asking what happened,” said Mazlan.

He said the sentry also walked to the driver of the BMW and asked what happened.

Mazlan said it was standard operating procedure to check those entering a police station, especially at night.

“The safety of the public is important but equally important is the safety of the police station. We have to assess the situation before making a decision and in this instance the policeman allowed Kogee into the compound,” said Mazlan.

He said the policeman at the inquiry desk walked to her and asked if she wanted to lodge a report.

“But she sat in the car for 20 minutes making calls,” said Mazlan.

He said police would investigate all the allegations she made.

“I want to be fair to the complainant and also to my men. Investigation will be conducted fairly,” he said. – March 15, 2018.

  • It would be wiser for the police to shut-up and investigate rather than issuing statements of defense. I mean - with police current credibility - who would believe the police. Also that 3 Road Bully - must be taken to court and charged so that this will serve as a lesson to them and other road bully.
