Musa Hassan warns against outside interference in ‘family matter’

THE former police chief who is being investigated for allegedly assaulting his second wife, issued a warning this evening, saying it was a family matter and warned against any outside interference.

In a tweet at 8.21pm, Musa Hassan warned that any speculation about the matter would be met with legal action.

Earlier, it was reported that police were investigating an assault report lodged by a woman, said to be the second wife of a former police chief, following an argument at their home in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur last week.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Azmi Abu Kassim told The Malaysian Insight that they received separate reports from both parties, including the former police chief.

“We received both reports on March 1,” he said.

The argument started when Musa returned home to give the woman some money.

It was reported that the woman started recording his every move, which angered him.

He grabbed her handphone and in the ensuing struggle, the woman claimed that she was assaulted on her head and the back of her neck.

Musa lodged the report through his lawyer, where he claimed he was assaulted with a helmet.

Musa was the inspector-general of police from 2006 to 2010.

In 2013, he joined the Pakatan Rakyat security advisory council as an adviser in the run-up to the general election that year. – March 7, 2023.
