MALAYSIA recorded 10 new Covid-19-related deaths yesterday, taking the death toll in the country to 36,736.

Of the 10 fatalities, four were registered in Kedah, followed by Penang (3), Perak (2) and Sabah (1).

Malaysia also logged 867 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, the lowest since May 3, when 922 infections were recorded.

The new infections took the case tally to 5,010,634.

Active cases dropped to 18,721 after 1,313 patients recovered from the illness. 

Among the active cases, 17,408 people were in home quarantine (93%) and 1,235 in hospitals (7%).      

There were 78 patients in intensive care, 50 of whom required respiratory assistance. – December 12, 2022.
