MALAYSIANS must support Anwar Ibrahim’s cabinet despite concerns raised over the absence of senior Pakatan Harapan leaders, DAP’s M. Kula Segaran said.

“I urge them to look at the big picture. This is the cabinet we need at the moment. It is the cabinet that has the support of all Pakatan Harapan component parties,” the Ipoh Barat MP said today in a statement.

He also said he did not mind that he was not included in it, urging people to support his party colleague, Batu Gajah MP V. Sivakumar, who was appointed human resources minister.

Kula Segaran held the portfolio under the PH government from May 2018 to February 2020.

“Sivakumar has vast political experience and the capability to drive the ministry forward. If required, our entire team and I are always there to lend him a hand,” he said.

“We are back on the right track,” he added.

Anwar named a 28-member cabinet for his unity government on Saturday.

Concerns have been raised over the inclusion of Barisan Nasional chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in the cabinet as the deputy prime minister as well as a number of defeated candidates.

Malaysians have also asked why DAP was not given more cabinet portfolios – it was alloted four – even though it is the PH party with the most seats in parliament. – December 4, 2022.

  • I think DAP made the right call to give others a chance to fill what's its like to be a Minister except those who had performed and delivered well during PH previous 22 months rule. It's either that or those who are too excited in discharging their roles as Minister cause too much scene that in a way also contributed the swung of Malays votes to PN. DAP was quick to acknowledge that tackle it swiftly to address the situation for long term gain. So lets see how dragon Nga is going to behave. Dumb umno can't be bother to read the signs on the wall and still are arrogant as usual.
