THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) raided Invoke Solutions Sdn Bhd today as part of its investigation into Rafizi Ramli’s asset declaration regarding the data analytics company, the PKR deputy president said today.
Speaking to reporters at the party headquarters, Rafizi said the raid was ongoing at 12 noon as he held the press conference.
The raid today follows a similar one to his office yesterday, when his staff was questioned for seven hours.
Earlier today, a MACC source told The Malaysian Insight that the commission only seized documents yesterday following a report made by a civil society group.
The Malaysian Insight has reached out to MACC to comment on today’s raid.
Rafizi also said that the Customs Department has sent notice informing him of its visit to the office over the investigations.
He said the company was fully complying with the investigations but slammed the Umno-led caretaker government for its political persecution in trying to turn public sentiment against Pakatan Harapan before polling day on November 19.
“As we speak, the MACC is conducting a second raid on my office in Invoke. I understand what is happening.
“I think BN also understands that they will lose in the general election so, in the last two or three days of the campaign, they are desperate to find political ammo.
“Because I am on the frontlines of (the Pakatan’s) election campaign against Umno, BN and PN, I understand that the motive of this investigation is that they are hoping to find something before polling day with which to attack me and sway public support,” said Rafizi, who is also the candidate for Pandan. – November 16, 2022.
