THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) yesterday seized some documents from Rafizi Ramli’s office as part of its investigation into his asset declaration regarding his data analytics company Invoke Solutions Sdn Bhd, anti-graft agency sources confirmed.

The sources told The Malaysian Insight that the probe was on Rafizi’s asset declaration.

“It was not a raid. We only seized documents following a report made by a civil society group. We will investigate every report lodged,” said a MACC source.

Last night Rafizi revealed in a ceramah that his office was raided by the MACC, with his staff being questioned for up to seven hours.

He said the raid only ended around 9pm. 

He slammed the MACC for being a political tool to investigate him but not taking any actions against cases of corruption that he had revealed in recent weeks, including alleged wrongdoing involving the littoral combat ship (LCS) scandal.

“This represents all that is wrong in this country. Where is your dignity, MACC?

“The people are bringing up the LCS scandal, issues concerning our national security and flood mitigation infrastructure, of which evidence has been provided – yet who do they decide to chase? Little kids.”

Recently, Pertubuhan Jalinan Perpaduan Malaysia lodged a report with the MACC against Rafizi over his asset declaration as an election candidate.

The movement wanted to know where the RM16 million funding for Invoke, as stated in Rafizi’s declaration, had come from. 

Rafizi is also facing a legal action from caretaker Environment and Water Minister and PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man for alleging that the minister had given approval for a RM2 billion flood mitigation project after the dissolution of parliament.

Last night Rafizi said that he would be revealing more information today against Tuan Ibrahim on the said approval.

“Tuan Ibrahim thought I only had one document to expose, so he panicked and threatened to sue me,” said Rafizi. 

“Normally, when I expose something, it can drag on for months. Tomorrow (today) at 11.30am, I will deliver a deadly blow to PAS and Perikatan Nasional (PN).  

“I will show that there were indeed projects that were approved after Parliament was dissolved. I want to see how PN responds then.” – November 16, 2022.
