MALAYSIA recorded 2,618 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, taking the total number of infections to 4,880,005. 

There are now 27,299 active cases with 26,186 or 95.9% undergoing home quarantine.  

The country also recorded 1,841 recoveries bringing the cumulative number of recoveries to 4,816,262. 

Four more fatalities were reported with two cases classified as brought in dead.  

Since the pandemic, Malaysia has logged 36,444 deaths linked to Covid-19.

As of yesterday, 1,066 patients were being treated in hospitals while 47 patients were placed in intensive care units (ICU). – October 23, 2022.
