1,971 new Covid cases, 3 deaths

MALAYSIA recorded a drop in new Covid-19 cases yesterday to 1,971 compared to 1,990 cases a day earlier.  

According to the CovidNow website, the total number of infections since the start of the pandemic stood at 4,803,624 cases.  

Selangor posted the highest number of infections yesterday with 590 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (371) and Perak (188). 

Sabah logged 160 new cases, Negeri Sembilan (75), Johor (73), Sarawak (85), Malacca (91), Penang (1012), Putrajaya (38), Kedah (63), Pahang (42), Terengganu (24), Kelantan (45), Perlis (20) and Labuan (4).  

The Health Ministry also reported three Covid-19 deaths yesterday with no classified dead on arrival cases, bringing the total to 36,277.  

The three deaths were in Malacca (1), Pahang (1) and Sarawak (1). 

The number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care units (ICU) stood at 69, of which 49 required respiratory support. – September 11, 2022.
