Stand in solidarity with Najib, Zahid tells Umno members

UMNO president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has called on members of the party and the public to rally behind former prime minister Najib Razak who is at the final leg of his SRC International Sdn Bhd appeal.

Taking to Facebook, Zahid said while he respected the Federal Court’s decision yesterday in rejecting Najib’s application to adduce fresh evidence and to postpone the trial, he can still show support for his fellow party member.

“The court’s decision does not stop the rakyat, party members and leaders to stand beside Najib in his fight,” Zahid wrote.

“The road to justice is a long one. As the saying goes, your truth, my truth and the truth. Truth is God’s word.

“Let’s stand in solidarity with Najib. Ensuring that he doesn’t give up and remains strong.”

The Bagan Datuk MP said Najib has contributed a lot to the party and to the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition.

“Najib is the king of social media and has helped Umno and BN regain its footing, to the point that its dissidents now want to forge relations with Umno.”

Najib was found guilty of all seven criminal charges for having received RM42 million in funds from SRC International on July 28, 2020.

Then High Court judge and now Court of Appeal judge Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali sentenced Najib to 12 years in jail and a fine of RM210 million.

His Federal Court appeal started yesterday with his application to adduce fresh evidence but was subsequently rejected.

His bid to postpone the trial was also rejected by the apex court and his appeal trial is scheduled to begin tomorrow. – August 17, 2022.

  • Two of the same kind leading the pack of boot lickers, isn't there any UMNO members who has integrity to stand up and booted these two out of the party for all the wrong doings or are you UMNO members just pledge your support blindly since $$$$$$ are in your pockets too? I just can't understand at this age of time most of UMNO members are still looking up to corrupted leaders, can't you think where are they leading the party and Malays at large? UMNO of the 50's has long since dead and the new UMNO created by the old man is all about $$$$$$$$ and that is a fact.
