Air Selangor cuts water to 394 areas across Klang Valley

A TOTAL of 394 areas in Petaling, Kuala Lumpur and Hulu Langat are expected to experience unscheduled water cuts starting at 10am today.

According to a tweet by Air Selangor, it had to shut down Langat 2 water treatment plant (LRA Langat 2) at 4.30am.

“An accident occurred at KM75.9 of the Karak-Bentong highway, with chemical pollution in the river forcing us to halt operations at Langat 2.”

Consumers can obtain information through the Air Selangor app, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter feeds, or the Air Selangor contact centre on 15300.

Enquiries and complaints can also be submitted to the website help centre and the Air Selangor app.

The full list of affected areas will be shared on Air Selangor social media platforms, along with updates on the incident.

The last major cut in the Klang Valley took place in May when taps to 472 areas were turned off following odour pollution at the Jenderam Hilir raw water pump station intake.

Operations at the Sungaig Semenyih and Bukit Tampoi water treatment plants were temporarily halted. – August 11, 2022.
