Pakatan will be too busy fighting over PM post if it wins, says Najib

PRIME Minister Najib Razak today slammed Pakatan Harapan’s leadership choices, saying Dr Mahathir Mohamad is unlikely to hand over the country’s top job to Anwar Ibrahim if the coalition wins the general elections.

But he said if the former prime minister did so, it would mean the country would be run by a husband-and-wife team.

PH had declared Dr Mahathir its interim prime minister designate and Wan Azizah Wan Ismail its candidate for deputy prime minister if the coalition wins the 14th general election.

“There are two scenarios that will happen. First, Dr Mahathir will not relinquish the post to Anwar as (Dr Mahathir) regards other leaders as incapable,” Najib said in a speech uploaded on his blog today.

According to Najib, Dr Mahathir had said in 2016 that he would never allow an immoral person to become prime minister and has also said that Anwar is “too old” to govern.

“The second scenario, even if Dr Mahathir chooses to make a U-turn and relinquishes his post for Anwar, that would result in the prime minister and deputy prime minister’s posts to be held by a husband and wife. This is the highest level of nepotism they could practise.”

Najib said the “rakyat would reject” such a despotic leadership.

“We predict that if the opposition wins the general election, they will remain too busy jostling for the prime minister’s post for two to three years before they could even begin working to serve the rakyat.”

Najib said however, if the people were to return the mandate to Barisan Nasional, “then we can immediately begin serving the rakyat as soon as the elections are over as we have a strong line-up of leaders.” – February 23, 2018.

  • In Malaysia if something goes wrong with Najib DPM takes over who is going to be from the same party UMNO.. In Pakatan Harapan after TDM who is from PPBM it is taken over by PKR and not from PPBM. This it self shows PH is better the UMNO.

  • Between a party that cannot remove a corrupt leader and party fighting who to be PM,I will take the latter. The latter is small failure now, but the former is certain catastrophe later by quinoa eating but do not know price leader.

  • Mr. PM -- who is your speech writter or did your foreign tacticians ever validate what you are gonna speak. your comments are really very pedestrian and extremely out of touch with the political situation in the country. By alluding that the old fox will not relinquish his primership if he wins are just like the Ahmad, Ah Too and Maniam coffee shop idle discussions. Are you so devoid of the ability to reasoning and deductions that you are just picking up what is in the streets discarded topics and recycling it. Have better sense of of judgement in your remarks. PH is not a party like Umno who controls everything until the stiffling is self defeating and every component party's will be choked to death. No way will the old man rule or neither will Anwar and his wife has the ability to control PH. PKR of yesteryears are not what it can call the shots as every one in the PH is with a say . Even DAP as a party is no longer able to monopolise the adminstration or even bother to try and dictate the directions. It is now a PH of general consensus. Your devious and communal party might are things of the past. You better shape up or you will be totally vanquished. BN as a whole needs to be retained as minority seats opposition to taste defeats and reform to less religious , racism and corruptions. BN needs to clean up all their sins and obviously less you as their head to make a head way and on an ardous journey of repentance and learning curve. Back to basic.
