MAHB net profit soars threefold to RM237 million

MALAYSIA Airports Holdings Bhd’s (MAHB) net profit surged more than threefold to RM237.09 million for the financial year ending December 31, 2017, compared with the RM73.17 million registered in 2016.

The group’s revenue last year rose 11.5% to RM4.65 billion from RM4.17 billion previously, attributable to growth in both airport and non-airport operations.

“Airport operations recorded a revenue growth of 9.8%, mainly driven by the aeronautical and non-aeronautical segments,” it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

In the fourth quarter, MAHB registered a decrease in net profit to RM27.85 million, from the RM37.12 million in the corresponding quarter in 2016.

On outlook, the airport operator said this year promised to be another exciting year for MAHB.

“The group remains committed to delivering high-quality services to stakeholders by embedding a customer-centric culture in airport operations, to provide an innovative and digitalised airport experience for passengers, airlines and retailers.”

It proposed a final single-tier dividend of 8 sen per MAHB ordinary share for the financial year ending December 31, 2017.

Together with the earlier interim dividend of 5 sen per share, the total dividend declared for last year would amount to 13 sen per share, against the 10 sen declared in 2016.

MAHB also said it had unveiled its headline key performance indicators for the financial year ending December 31 this year on a voluntary basis, signalling its commitment to transparent performance measures and good corporate governance. – Bernama, February 21, 2018.
