FELDA will soon submit the documents to reclaim prime land it lost through an allegedly fraudulent transaction.

Felda chairman Shahrir Samad said key documents such as Form 14A for transferral of ownership had been prepared and would soon be submitted to the Kuala Lumpur land office.

“All the documents have been signed and we are in the midst of submitting them. Just be patient, everything will be completed and (the land) will come back to Felda,” Shahrir told The Malaysian Insight.

He declined however to say when the documents would be submitted.

“The land grant is with the agency. The letter to transfer ownership is also with Felda and we are only waiting for it to be registered.

“Some people don’t believe this. But it is simple. We are the government, we can do it. We are not just a private citizen. The power of the government is with us.”

Shahrir was giving an update on the agency’s efforts to reclaim 16 plots of land in Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur, from the company contracted to build the Kuala Lumpur Vertical City (KLVC).

Late last year, the agency announced that ownership of the land had been transferred under suspicious circumstances to developer Synergy Promenade Sdn Bhd (SPSB).

The firm had been given power of attorney to build KLVC. But Shahrir and legal experts say that it is not the practice in such projects to hand ownership of the land over to the developer.

Shahrir has filed a police report claming the transfer of ownership had “elements of fraud”.

Early last month, SPSB agreed to hand over documents that would allow Felda to apply to regain ownership of the land.

Two weeks ago, Shahrir said a forensic audit recommended that action be taken against Felda officials involved in the transaction which occurred in 2015.

He vowed that no Felda employee, including members of the board, would be spared if they were found to have been involved in the land transfer.

As for SPSB, Shahrir said the firm would be allowed to proceed with developing KLVC, but Felda would be renegotiating the terms of the agreement. – February 20, 2018.

  • Sharrir, so much has been said and done on this since the expose of fraud of late. Be patient, on the way, in the highway etccccwere words since be told. If You ate in control of the situation, as you had claimed to be, then provide a dateline when this will be resolved. Exact dates and how....not on the way, in the highway stuffs...these are words from leaders who's not in control or who don't have a clue of what's happened. Be a man and a good leader, be specific .....or just Shut up! This Felda is in a mess due to appointed leaders who're more interested in warming up that seat......sick and tired of you guys taking these folks for a ride and riping them off their sweats and hard-work......

  • Firstly, ITS NOT ABOUT THE RECLAMATION OF THE LAND. Its about Felda being messed up by the son of the man who created it, AND the nemesis of the one who actually put it on a firmer footing before the prodigal son messed it up. Why is information on questions STILL NOT FORTHCOMING AFTER ITS OBVIOUS THERE IS A COVER UP FOR A LONG TIME? Getting back the land is just a cover up we already know. What is more important is the cover up and going after the culprit.

Stop the stupidity. rakyat are tired and very fed up. Do not push the Rakyat specially the felda settlers to the corner anymore.

  • On 15 Jan 2018, FELDA was reported to have announced that it has regained the prime piece of land previously reported to have been trafserred to Synergy Promenade Sdn Bhd "without any costs incurred". Shahrir himself said that "all of the property ownership letters have been registered back under Felda’s name”.

But Rafizi proved - 3 weeks later - on 8 Feb 2018 that Synergy Promenade still owned the land according to official copies of the land titles that he obtained.

The next day, on 9 Feb 2018, Shahrir confirmed that Rafizi's claim was true, but used the excuse that there had been caveats lodged after Felda lodged a police report on 26 Dec 2017.

Shahrir is one of the very few UMNO politicians with an appreciable level of public confidence left. But he statements on this issue have proven that he had either not told the truth on 15 Jan 20-18, or at least been misinformed by whoever had given him important information. Please pardon the ton of salt with which I take his latest "be patient, reclamation of Jalan Semarak land under way".
