INDIVIDUALS who are fully vaccinated will no longer need to perform Covid-19 tests pre-departure and upon arrival in Malaysia, Khairy Jamaluddin said today.

The health minister said travellers aged 12 and below will also be exempted from performing Covid-19 tests regardless of their vaccination status.

“The new requirement applies to both Malaysians as well as foreigners,” he said at a press conference in Putrajaya today.

Khairy added that travellers with a history of Covid-19 infection within six to 60 days from the date of recovery before leaving for Malaysia also need not undertake a test before departing for Malaysia.

He, however, said that unvaccinated or partially vaccinated travellers were required to do a test two days prior to their departure and also perform a supervised RTK-antigen test within 24 hours upon arrival.

He said this group of travellers will be quarantined for five days.

The minister also said that Covid-19 insurance is no longer required for travellers entering Malaysia.

All the new protocols announced today will take effect on May 1. – April 27, 2022.
