PRASARANA has held an emergency response plan (ERP) simulation with disaster management agencies in preparation for the opening of the Putrajaya Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project.
Prasarana in a statement today said the training held at Sri Damansara Sentral station on March 22 involved officers and personnel of the Fire and Rescue Department, police, Selayang Hospital and the Land Public Transport Agency.
The exercise, code-named X-PERT, was a simulation of a car having hit a lamp post, which then falls on the track between the Sri Damansara Sentral and Sri Damansara Barat stations before being hit by a four-car train heading to Kg Batu.
Putrajaya Line MRT project director Amiruddin Ma’aris said the simulation is important to test the effectiveness of emergency drills as well as the reaction time of relevant government agencies in a real emergency.
“Rapid Rail as the operator and MRT Corp as the project developer and asset owner will continue to make improvements to ensure the level of service is reliable and comparable to world-class metro services,” he said. – Bernama, April 3, 2022.
