SINGLE mother Loh Siew Hong has lodged a police report against PAS Syura Council for making a statement that allegedly interferes with her judicial review to challenge the unilateral conversion of her three children to Islam.

Malaysiakini reports that Loh lodged her police report at the Sentul police station in Kuala Lumpur today over the Ulama Syura Council statement in February asking the government to ensure that the children were not converted out of Islam.

In her police report, Loh said the Syura Council’s statement was a form of criminal threat and also an incitement aimed at preventing her from succeeding in her judicial review application.

Loh on March 25 filed her judicial review to challenge the conversion of her three children to Islam by her ex-husband, Nagahswaran Muniandy, without her consent.

The children, 14-year-old twin daughters and a 10-year-old son, were converted in 2020. The children were taken from her the previous year while Loh was hospitalised for injuries she said were inflicted on her by her ex-husband.

The children lived in a welfare home in Perlis until Low traced them, only to find that they had been converted to Islam without her knowledge.

Now divorced, Loh was given custody of the children by the court in March last year, while Nagahswaran is in prison for a drug-related offence.

Following news of Loh’s judicial review, PAS information chief Khairil Nizam Khirudin issued a “warning” against anyone trying to reverse the conversion of her children. – April 1, 2022.
