36% of children given first Covid-19 vaccine jab

A TOTAL of 1.28 million primary school children ages five to 11 (36% of the population) have received their first Covid-19 vaccine dose as part of the national Covid-19 immunisation programme for children, as of yesterday.

Meanwhile, according to the CovidNow website, 2.85 million adolescents ages 12 to 17 (91.5%) have completed their vaccination schedule, while 2.94 million (94.6%) of the group have received at least one dose.

For the adult population, 15.6 million (66.1) people have received the booster dose, 22.9 million (97.5%) people have been fully vaccinated, and 23.2 million (98.7%) people have received at least one dose.

Yesterday, 27,592 doses were administered, with 5,911 first doses, 1,373 second doses and 20,308 booster shots, bringing the cumulative total to 68.6 million. – Bernama, March 24, 2022.
