Mosque blast in Peshawar kills 5, wounds more than 30

AT least five people were killed and more than 30 others injured when a bomb went off near a mosque in Peshawar city in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province today, police said.

Police sources in the area told Xinhua that the blast occurred during Friday prayers in the Kocha Risaldar area of Peshawar.

They said the death toll might rise as several injured were in critical condition.

Rescue teams, police and security forces reached the site and moved the wounded to a nearby hospital.

No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack. – Bernama, March 4, 2022.
