PERIKATAN Nasional will provide 20 cubic metres of free water to lower income groups, and suspend all local government licensing fees and rental for five years if it wins the Johor polls.
The coalition also promises to give special payments to registered fishermen, and start a youth legislative assembly and youth leadership foundation in the southern state if it wins the state elections, said chairman Muhyiddin Yassin.
“Perikatan also undertakes to ensure all abandon Felda housing, or those being restored, will be saved.
“The land premiums for approved lots by the state government for building houses for future Felda generations will be capped at RM1/sq ft,” said the former prime minister in Johor Baru this morning, during the launch of Perikatan Nasional’s Ikrar manifesto.
Ikrar is based on eight key policies, 24 strategies and 144 approaches.
The eight policies are to help Felda settlers; manage inflation; improve the state infrastructure; strengthen the community; strengthen the state economy; support corrupt-free leaders; protect the environment; and, revitalise the tourism sector.
On anti-corruption matters, Muhyiddin said he will appoint the opposition to head the Johor Public Accounts Committee and will make it mandatory for all assemblymen to table their annual constituency expenditure in the state assembly.
He also promised to include more non-governmental organisation representatives in local government and raise the transparency of state government projects.
On the economic policy, Muhyiddin said he will exempt all businesses from licensing fees for five years.
He also promised a RM150 award for each Johor child from B40 families and to increase the number of community child care centres in lower-income communities. β March 2, 2022.
