THE government will not impose any restriction on children aged 5 to 11 who do not get the Covid-19 jab, said the health minister.

Khairy Jamaluddin said this group will not be penalised, unlike unvaccinated adults, as the Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids) is not mandatory.

However, parents are encouraged to register their children for vaccination on MySejahtera (MySJ), he added.

Khairy, in a tweet, said: “Register your children (aged 5 to 11) for #PICKids on MySJ. Protect them from Covid-19.”

Khairy last week announced that appointment booking for children vaccination via MySJ will be open at month-end, beginning in the Klang Valley.
