New Covid-19 cases back in 4,000-range

MALAYSIA continued to report a rise in daily Covid-19 cases for the second consecutive day as the country logged 4,046 fresh infections as of noon today, Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.

This is the first time in the past 33 days that the country has registered daily infections in the range of 4,000. The country logged 4,083 cases on December 18, 2021.

Noor Hisham said the latest number of infections bring the cumulative total to 2,824,973.

Case breakdown according to states will be uploaded to the CovidNow website after midnight.

Meanwhile, a total of 22.91 million or 97.9% of the adult population have completed their vaccination, while 23.19 million individuals or 99.1% of the group have received at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine.

For adolescents aged 12-17, a total of 2.78 million individuals or 88.3% have completed vaccination course, while 2.86 million individuals or 91% have had at least one jab. – January 21, 2022.
