KHAIRUDDIN Aman Razali has been ejected from the PAS central committee for violating party rules.

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said this today but would not reveal which offence the Kuala Nerus MP had committed.

“There is discipline in the party. Whoever does not follow (the rules) can be advised, have his position switched or be transferred to work elsewhere, have his membership suspended and can be fired,” Hadi told reporters in Marang.

He said the decision was made in a management committee meeting on Wednesday.

Earlier today sources told The Malaysian Insight of the party decision to remove Khairuddin from the PAS central committee.

However, the action was not a dismissal, they said.

“It is true but he was not fired; his appointment was merely revoked,” said the source, who also declined to reveal the reason for the revocation.

Asked whether Khairuddin was removed for holding closed-door discussions with other party leaders, the president did not answer.

The discussions are understood to be linked efforts to strengthen Muafakat Nasional and defend Perikatan Nasional.

The Malaysian Insight also reported that the decision was made in a management committee meeting on Wednesday which was also confirmed by Hadi.

Khairuddin was appointed to the committee along with two others, Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz and Mohd Zuhdi Marzuki last November after losing in elections at the muktamar.

Khairuddin was previously linked to an audio recording containing a speech criticising Hadi’s leadership as party president.

The speech, among others, raised concerns about Hadi’s stance on the issue of seat negotiations with Umno and Bersatu. – January 14, 2022.
