BOUSTEAD Holdings Berhad has appointed Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof as its new independent non-executive chairman to accelerate the group’s reinvention and environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) agenda for 2022.

Boustead Group managing director Mohammed Shazalli Ramly said the group believes Redzuan’s vast experience in both corporate and public offices would elevate Boustead to new heights.

“We look forward to Redzuan’s leadership, guidance and counsel to meet our strategic goals in line with the ‘Reinventing Boustead’ strategy of accelerating overall performance to enhance and maximise shareholder value, while protecting the interests of our shareholders, especially the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) as our majority shareholder,” he said.

In a statement, the investment arm of LTAT said Redzuan, who is also Alor Gajah member of Parliament, served as the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives minister from 2018 to 2020, and later as the minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions) from 2020 to 2021.

Redzuan holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom, and began his career as an engineer with ESSO Malaysia Sdn Bhd, and later served in Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd. – Bernama, January 3, 2022.
