Flash floods shut down Shah Alam toll plaza, interchange

PLUS Malaysia Bhd has closed the Shah Alam toll plaza and interchange due to flash floods caused by continuous rain over the past 24 hours.

The highway operator said in a statement that it has also activated the mandatory exits at the Subang and Seafield toll plazas for both southbound and northbound traffic.

The entry lane at the Bukit Raja and the Setia Alam ramps to Shah Alam is also closed.

“Highway customers who are cut off between Setia Alam to Shah Alam and Subang towards Shah Alam/Elite are required to make an emergency U-turn via a temporary access provided by Plus,” it said.

Highway users have been alerted of the traffic conditions via the variable messaging system, PLUS said.

Shah Alam and Klang in Selangor have been inundated following a downpour.

According the infoBanjir website, the water in 14 rivers in Selangor has reached dangerous levels.

As at 6.45 pm, the water levels in Selangor, Perak, Negri Sembilan, Malacca, and Kelantan have reached dangerous levels. –  December 18, 2021.
