THE price of RON97 will drop three sen to RM2.99 per litre from RM3.02 per litre from tomorrow to December 15, said the Finance Ministry today.

The ministry said the prices of RON95 and diesel will remain unchanged at RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre, respectively, for the same period.

“To protect consumers from the effects of the increase in oil prices in the global market, the government has maintained the retail price ceiling of RON95 at RM2.05 per litre and diesel at RM2.15 per litre.”

The actual market prices of both commodities have exceeded the price ceiling, it added.

It said the government will continue to monitor the changes in world crude oil prices and take suitable measures to ensure the welfare and well-being of the people are always protected. – Bernama, December 8, 2021.
