BN pulls ahead in Kelebang, Asahan

BARISAN Nasional (BN) has taken the lead in Kelebang and Asahan in the Malacca elections, according to unofficial results from Pakatan Harapan (PH).

According to PH, Lim Ban Hong has taken a slim lead over PH’s Gue Teck after polling 1,858 votes to the latter’s 1,803.

PN’s Bakri Jamaluddin is in third place with 1,447 in the 19,976-voter seat.

According to PH, the result is from 19 out of 47 polling stations.

In Asahan, former chief minister Idris Haron has fallen behind BN’s Fairul Nizam Along.

Fairul is ahead with 672 votes while Idris only has 241. PN’s Dhanesh Basil has 186 votes, followed by three independents Mohd Noor Salleh (7), Azmar Hamid (24) and Mohd Akhir Ayob (12).

Asahan has 15,745 voters.

Idris is a former Umno strongman who defected to PKR following his dismissal from Umno after he was involved in withdrawing support for Chief Minister Sulaiman Md Ali.

That act resulted in the state elections. – November 20, 2021.
