UMNO will avoid clashing with parties in the government in the Malacca polls, said Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said the Umno Supreme Council has given him the mandate to discuss and negotiate with parties in the government for this purpose.
If there are three-cornered fights in the state polls, it will benefit only the opposition, he added.
“In fact, they (opposition) are waiting to see parties in the government clashing with each other so as to gain from the diversion,” said the Umno vice-president.
Umno had earlier decided to continue its collaboration with PAS in the Malacca polls – which has been called following the dissolution of the state assembly on October 4, when four assemblymen withdrew their support for Chief Minister Sulaiman Md Ali.
The Election Commission has set November 20 for polling day, while nomination day will be on November 8 and early voting on November 16. – Bernama, October 30, 2021.

Political parties are equivelant to legal gangsterism with a gang leader that all those elected by the people will take order from. Not what the people want but what the gang leader wants.
To add salt, coalition of political parties is actually a coalition of gangs not coalition of the Rakyat.
