AirAsia offers up to 70% discount for travel to Malaysian destinations

AIRASIA Bhd has continued its partnership with Tourism Malaysia, with a new promotion of up to 70% off fares for all Malaysian destinations.

In a statement, AirAsia said the promotion was launched today by Tourism and Culture Minister Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz and its commercial head, Spencer Lee, at the Asean Tourism Forum in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

“The regional promotion is aimed at boosting Malaysia’s tourism sector, the country’s second-largest source of income, in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2020, which targets 36 million tourists and RM168 billion in tourism receipts.”

Lee said the airline looked forward to working even more closely with Tourism Malaysia to offer better connectivity into and within Malaysia.

AirAsia said last year, the company and Tourism Malaysia had signed a two-year memorandum of understanding to promote tourism in the country.

“The MoU covers brand advertising; promotional activities and campaigns; familiarisation trips for consumer and trade associations, the media and travel agencies; greater tourism development and route network synergy; market intelligence-sharing; and, joint roadshows to market Malaysia to trade partners.”

The airline said it was offering up to 70% off fares for all Malaysian destinations for travel between August 1 and November 22, for all bookings made from now until January 28 via the AirAsia app or on airasia.com. – Bernama, January 26, 2018.
