THE Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) has clarified that the actor arrested over suspected drug abuse in Kuala Kangsar, Perak, recently is not a member of its volunteer reserve team.
RMAF in a statement today said the confusion occurred when bloggers, social media users and media practitioners used photographs of the actor dressed in a pilot’s uniform.
“The photographs of the actor were taken when he played the role of an RMAF pilot in a drama titled Gempur Wira on RTM in 2018.
“RMAF is upset with the use of these photographs in an article related to a criminal offence, thus tarnishing the image of the air force.”
The statement said bloggers, social media users and media practitioners are advised to not associate RMAF with the actor, and to make the necessary corrections to their articles.
On Sunday, a 28-year-old actor and two other men were arrested for suspected drug abuse, following a raid on a house in Kuala Kangsar.
All three men pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and methamphetamine after the charges were read out to them at the magistrates’ court in Kuala Kangsar yesterday. All were allowed bail.
