MALAYSIA aims to fully inoculate 80% of its adolescent population against Covid-19 by November 14, the Health Ministry said on the CovidNow website.
A new tracker for 12- to 17-year-olds on the website shows that as of yesterday, just 0.8% or 23,703 of people in the age group are fully vaccinated.
It showed 579,204, or 68.4% of youngsters of that age group are partially vaccinated, leaving 2.54 million of them unvaccinated.
To reach the 80% target, 2.59 million of them will have to be fully vaccinated.
The inoculation programme for the group began on September 8.
As of yesterday, 81.8% of adults are fully vaccinated. Among the general population, 58.7% are fully dosed while 68.8% have had one dose. – September 24, 2021.
