Women are key in most political parties in Malaysia. However, few make it to decision-making positions in their parties, state assemblies or Parliament. This series feature women politicians in Malaysia who have made names for themselves in a male-dominated field.

HANNAH Yeoh made history when she was sworn in as the youngest, first female state speaker in the country at the age of 34 on June 22, 2013. She also became a mother after giving birth to her second child earlier that year.
