396,578 doses of Covid vaccines administered yesterday

FEWER than 400,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine were administered under the national vaccination drive yesterday, said the Special Committee for Ensuring Access to Covid-19 Vaccine Supply.

The committee said 396,578 doses were administered on August 23, of which 246,109 were second doses while 150,469 were first jabs.

About 13.31 million people, or 56.9% of the adult population in Malaysia, are now fully vaccinated against Covid-19 after receiving two doses of the vaccine, while 18.47 million, or 78.9%,  have received one shot.

Labuan has the highest rate of full vaccination with 63,271 people,  or 92.4% of the adult population, having received two doses.

The Klang Valley has seen the highest number of doses dispensed with 6.73 million first jabs and 5.25 million second jabs.

In total, 31.79 million doses of vaccine have been administered since the vaccination drive began on February 24.

Meanwhile, restrictions have been eased for fully vaccinated people in phase 1 states.
