SHAH Alam police has interviewed four people including a 27 year-old man who had allegedly beat a 13 year-old student of a tahfiz school here, district police chief Shafien Mamat said today.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt.
“We have yet to make any arrest. Right now we are in the process of gathering information,” he said, adding that the school principal will be called in for questioning soon.
Harian Metro reported that the incident occurred on May 10 when the teen was questioned over a “personal matter” by the warden.
He was then beaten with a rattan when he denied any wrongdoing and sustained injuries to his rib and arm.
His father lodged a police report at a police station in Section 9, Shah Alam following the incident.
This latest incident came barely a month after 11-year-old Mohamed Thaqif Amin Mohd Gadaffi died from injuries after being beaten with a rubber hose by an assistant-warden of in a tahfiz school.
His legs were amputated when his wounds developed into a virus infection and doctors were going to amputate his arm as well prior to his death. – May 17, 2017.
