THE government is confident of meeting its target of 130,00 vaccinations per day for Selangor, said Khairy Jamaluddin.

“We are starting seven new vaccination centres (PPV) today and plan to double the number of vaccinations at the mega PPVs in Selangor,” said the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme coordinating minister at his weekly press briefing today.

Khairy was responding to a question on whether the government can reach the target of 130,000 vaccinations per day in Selangor.

Despite the size of its population and the number of new infections per day, the number of adults fully vaccinated in the state was just 348,853, or 5.3%, of its 6.56 million population.

Earlier today Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said the state aimed to vaccinate 135,000 people daily this month under the Selangor Vaccination Programme.

He said since last week they have been vaccinating 53,000 people daily. – July 5, 2021.

  • KJ, your statement is an open one as it doesnt say by when, are we looking at the end of the month quoting Selangor MB or are we looking at by the end of the year. Its just another daily announcement of yours without weight.

  • 130k is not good enough per day. They need to open more facilities. More private hospitals and clinics need to step in to help. More mobile units have to be despatched and more drive-thru are needed. We need to stop the spread ASAP as our healthcare workers are overworked and overwhelmed. They are depleted and we do not know how long they can soldier on. We need to pump in as much resources as we can into Selangor.
