1.12 million people complete vaccination course

A TOTAL of 1,122,420 people in Malaysia have received the full two-dose course of Covid-19 vaccine as of yesterday, compared with 1,114,684 on Wednesday.

Health Minister Dr Adham Baba said on Twitter today that 2,208,016 people have been given a first dose of the vaccine.

In total, 3,330,436, people have been inoculated as of yesterday.

By state, Selangor leads with the highest number of people fully inoculated at 145,636, followed by Sarawak at 116,399, Perak (105,302) and Kuala Lumpur (101,249).  

The other states are catching up to 100,000 with Johor at 97,983, Sabah (89,821), Pahang (79,907), Penang (73,607), Kedah (70,389), Negri Sembilan (56,202), Kelantan (55,505) and Terengganu (50,052). 

Meanwhile, some states are below the 50,000 mark with Malacca at 36,441, Perlis (19,100), Putrajaya (12,410) and Labuan (12,417).  

The Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee Special Committee will continue to update the daily figures on the vaccination progress in Malaysia. 

The public is encouraged to register for vaccination through the MySejahtera app, website  http://vaksincovid.gov.my or contact 1800 8888 28.  

Yesterday, the nationwide Covid-19 death toll breached the 3,000 mark with 103 new deaths reported.

The overall death toll now stands at 3,096. 

There are 83,331 active cases nationwide as of yesterday, with 508,947 people recovering from the virus. – June 4, 2021.
