POLICE have opened an investigation paper into allegations that entrepreneur and celebrity Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor did not wear a mask when she arrived at the Seremban Court Complex yesterday.

Seremban district police chief Mohd Said Ibrahim said investigations were being carried out under Section 269 of the Penal Code and Regulation 17(1) of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the Infected Local Areas) Regulations 2021.

He said a police report has been lodged claiming that the 32-year-old celebrity did not comply with the Health Ministry’s standard operating procedure (SOP) that apply to all, including those who wear niqab.

“An explanation on the matter has been issued by the MoH after mask-wearing was made compulsory in crowded public places from August 1,” he said in a statement today.

A picture of Noor Neelofa who appeared as if she was not wearing a mask when she arrived at the court compound went viral yesterday.

Noor Neelofa and her husband Muhammad Haris Mohd Ismail pleaded not guilty in the magistrates’ court yesterday with violating the SOP on the conditional movement-control order at a carpet shop in Nilai on May 2. – Bernama, May 21, 2021.
