ANOTHER Hari Raya themed advertising video promoting gambling has been detected on social media, as police begin hunting for the people behind a similar video.

The latest video, IBC003 Hari Raya Berkaya, has been condemned by social media users, who urged the authorities to act.

The video, which is 3 minutes and 20 seconds in length, showed a hawker who managed to return home to celebrate Hari Raya after gambling using the advertised service.

The main character in the video was initially shown having financial issues, which included his motorcycle breaking down and then later stolen.

Then the man was shown gambling on his mobile phone and winning. Following which, he returns home to celebrate Hari Raya with his sweetheart, where he shares his secret with her.

The lyrics of the backing track include the chorus:

“Sayang raya nak menjelang tiba,

Oh diri sedang mencuba IBC003

Aku pun mahu juga IBC003

Manalah tahu berjaya

Hari Raya kita Kaya.

Bersama kita raikan,

Bila ada kemenangan IBC003

Hari raya bahagia.”

The video was shared by Facebook user named Li, who did not mention the original source of the post.

Earlier today, police said they have arrested eight people involved in a similar controversial Hari Raya gambling commercial.

Deputy Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said the eight suspects were actors, agents, a videographer and a producer/director.

He said police were still looking for the person behind the video.

Yesterday, 24-year-old Saifullah Mohd Yunus, the main character, said he was disappointed when he found out the actual purpose of the video but decided to keep shooting because he wished to be professional.

“We are very professional, we will not ask for production to stop just so we can go home.

“Since we had already completed 70% of the shoot, we decided to continue.” – April 17, 2021.
