PUTRAJAYA has now allowed social events such as weddings, birthday celebrations, reunions, meetings and seminars to take place.
Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said organisers however must abide by strict standard operating procedure (SOP) set by the National Security Council.
“We agree to let social events take place. For weddings, this includes non-Muslim wedding ceremonies.”
“The SOP is the same as announced before and we advised organisers to take this matter seriously,” he said during a press conference today.
Earlier, Ismail Sabri said states under movement-control order (MCO) have had their orders changed to conditional movement-control order (CMCO).
He said the NSC had pegged attendance at these events in areas which are under CMCO to 50% of the size of the area.
Selangor, Johor, Penang and Kuala Lumpur will be under CMCO from March 5 to March 18.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said the government is also allowing public spaces such as museums, nature parks, extreme park and art galleries to open.
“There are many sectors opened now. Family entertainment outlets, spas, massage parlours, libraries and theme parks are amongst the sectors that are allowed to operate,” he explained.
Ismail Sabri also announced that the government has lifted inter-district travel.
However, the public are not allowed interstate travel. – March 2, 2021.
