Isa Samad willing to cooperate in land probe

Former Felda chairman Isa Samad says he will cooperate with authorities in investigations surrounding a dubious land deal on Jalan Semarak. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, December 25, 2017.

FORMER Felda chairman Mohd Isa Samad, who is once again in the spotlight due to a controversial land deal involving the agency, is willing to cooperate with the authorities, Sinar Harian reported.

The Malay daily quoted Isa as saying that so far, no one from the police or the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has contacted him.

He also refuted claims that he was evading the media.

“If the police and MACC call me, I will come. I have to cooperate. But at this point no one has called me.

“Shahrir (current Felda chairman Shahrir Samad) has also made a police report, so let the police investigate,” Isa told the Malay daily.

He, however, refused to talk about the RM270 million deal which saw four parcels of Felda’s land in Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur being transferred to a private developer.

The controversial transfer occurred during Isa’s tenure as Felda chairman from 2011 to 2017.

Isa was also non-executive director of Felda Investment Corporation (FIC) from 2013 to 2017.

Felda had given Synergy Promenade full power of attorney to develop the land.

Shahrir has previously claimed that there were elements of the fraud in the transfer and has called for an investigation into the deal.

Isa also told Sinar Harian that he was not avoiding the media.

On December 22, Isa reportedly gave the media the slip after they waited for him to arrive at a special VIP arrival lane at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KILA).

Isa did not use the VIP lane even though it was reported that he had reserved it earlier.

“I did not run away. The media said I ran away.” – December 25, 2017.

  • Of course he is willing to cooperate because it's common knowledge he can bring down Najib himself so everyone knows what to do already.

  • Isa the Crony would not dare to steal money at FELDA without the approval of his master. We know because at axa affin life insurance berhad - we had a mongrel lap-dog crony (washed-out failed agency manager of AIA) appointed as chief agency to lead axa agents. Within 4 years - axa suffer massive losses, low agency morale, thousands migrated to join competitors (AIA, Prudential, Allianz, Great Eastern, Hong Leong, Manulife, Zurich, BSN Prudential, Etiqa, Sunlife, Tokio Marine).
