THE Perikatan Nasional government must allay public fear after the national Covid-19 tally passed 100,000 cases yesterday, said Najib Razak.
“Silence is not an option. The government needs to face the public and calm the public,” the former Prime Minister said in a Facebook post.
Najib said the national tally of infection will have a major psychological impact.
“I believe that it has evoked concerns and angered the people,” he said.
“I have also noticed that a lot of people are disappointed that the PN government has remained tight-lipped after hitting the psychological figure yesterday,” he said.
On that note, the Pekan MP said Putrajaya should explain the situation through a special address and spell out the additional measures that will be taken to contain the spread of infection.
He said there is a need for PN to calm the people down so that they feel safe and protected.
Malaysia reported 1,581 new infections yesterday to take its tally 100,318 while active cases rose to 18,773.
