Kuantan FA told to pay 6 players RM145,000 in salary arrears


THE Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has ordered the Kuantan District Football Association (Kuantan FA) to pay RM145,250 in arrears to its six players by January 15.

The decision was made at the third FAM Status Committee meeting for the term of 2017-2021 yesterday, which was chaired by FAM vice-president, Mohd Joehari Ayub.

The football association was ordered to pay RM36,100 in arrears to Amirullah Abd Razab; Mohd Shafiq Mat Isa (RM36,000); Muhammad Nur Zhafri Zaini (RM27,800); Nabilah Khan Razali (RM26,600); Mohd Fiqri Mohd Abdullah (RM11,250) and Mohd Hasmie Aziz (RM7,500).

“If Kuantan FA fails to pay the specified amount within the stipulated period, the matter will be brought to the FAM Disciplinary Committee in accordance with Article 67 of the FAM Disciplinary Code for official judgment and decision,” he said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, the Sarawak Football Association (FAS) was ordered to pay RM60,000 compensation to K. Thanaraj and RM58,000 to Mohd Iqbal Mohd Suhimi within 30 days due to the termination of contract by one side of the parties.

The FAM Status Committee also reached a decision that the Felcra Football Club (Felcra FC) would pay a compensation of RM65,000 to Azi Shahril Azmi within 30 days due to termination of the contract by one side of the parties, while the Perlis Football Association (PFA) was required to pay salary arrears of of RM6,000 to Muhammad Elfie Elyaz Harizam within 14 days.

In the meantime, the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) Football Association was instructed to pay RM72,000 and RM9,000 in arrears for salary and housing allowance, respectively, to its former player Razi Effendi Suhit in 30 days. – Bernama, December 22, 2017.
