WRITER and poet Salleh Ben Joned died today of heart failure. He was 79.

His family said he died at 1.21am today.

“He was experiencing breathing difficulties on Tuesday at home in Subang Jaya and was warded at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre,” they said on the deceased’s Facebook page.

“Sembahyang jenazah (funeral prayers) will be held at 10-10.30am at Masjid Abu Bakar As-Siddiq, Jalan SS19/7A, 47500 Subang Jaya.”

Owing to MCO regulations, only close relatives may attend the prayers and burial.

Salleh will be buried in the Muslim cemetery in USJ 22, Subang Jaya.

Salleh was also an actor who appeared in Amok (1995), Paper Tiger (1975) and Bintang Malam (1991). – October 29, 2020.
