THE Health Ministry has advised employers to monitor employees who are working from home to ensure that they are not out at shopping at malls, said Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

The director-general of health said the concept of working at home is to prevent the spread of the virus in the community.

“We can see that there are infections at the workplace. So, the government has come up with the directive for them to work from home.

“And it is not for them to go out shopping. So, the employers have the responsibility to ensure they are working from home,” he said at a press conference in Putrajaya today.

He said they have to stay at home and do their work to achieve their key performance index.

“For example when I had to quarantine for 14 days, I used to work 14 hours a day from 8am then at 5pm do Facebook live.

“I don’t even have time to leave the house. The main principle is stay at home and not go to the malls.”

He also said that if employees don’t perform or they are out instead of working then its the responsibility of the employers to take action. – October 24, 2020.

The only way to ensure they don't go shopping is to come to work!
