Court reschedules date to hear Johor Umno 1MDB suit

THE High Court in Kuala Lumpur will hear the government’s application to enforce forfeiture of RM678,000, seized from the Johor Umno Liaison Committee, on November 24.

Lawyer Syahrul Syazwan Salehin, representing Johor Umno, confirmed the date today.

He said the matter was supposed to be heard today before judge Muhammad Jamil Hussin, but the date had been pushed back following the implementation of the conditional movement control order in Selangor, Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur from October 14 to 27.

The money was seized by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) during the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) fund investigation and was transferred from the bank account of former prime minister Najib Razak. – Bernama, October 20, 2020.
